Last night I sat down to paint the view from the plane as I remembered (except for the fairy, she just seemed fitting). It took a long time, because I thought that my 16×20 canvas was more appropriate a size for a mountain I could see from my neighbor’s window over the wing. I noticed how colorful the sky is at dawn – pinks, blues, even some green, and so I tried to capture that as best I could with the shadows and wispy feel of the clouds and the mountain right before we passed it and it faded out of view.
