  • Watercolor on the West Coast #9 and #10

Yesterday, I woke up feeling sort of bad and didn’t end up doing anything, so this morning (still sickish) I made two pieces. The first, for yesterday, I just drew in my notebook, and the second is inspired by a friend. 🙂 Hopefully we’ll all get over whatever we’re coming down with quickly.

  • Watercolor on the West Coast #8

I made another 6×6 inspired by two jokes from last night when we were hanging out. A fish named invoice, and one of the guys with a drink holder hat and a blue tooth headset on simultaneously…

  • Watercolor on the West Coast #7

Alex bought me an artist’s model this afternoon, so I made the last card in my set using it.

  • Art on the West Coast (#6)

Today we went to the slopes and some of the people in our group skied, and Alex and I went tubing. Needless to say, I didn’t do any watercolors, but I did manage to get my daily dose of art in while I was warming up and watching the snowboarders come down the mountain. Turns…

  • Watercolor on the West Coast #5

I just did 3 more cards this morning, but I had fun. I did them on the desk in my room instead of the kitchen because I thought a change of scenery would be interesting.

  • Watercolor on the West Coast #4

Today I finished the last two art cards that I had previously marked out, and then decided to try another 6×6. On the art cards, I finished the two color idea  using blue and yellow – I also, unintentionally used that (for the most part) on the 6×6.

  • Watercolor on the West Coast #3

I did some more art cards today – The last two, I decided to challenge myself and use two colors (and white when needed). So I went with red and yellow and blue and red and just played with different ways of mixing.

  • Watercolor on the West Coast #2

This morning I decided to work on some smaller pictures and ended up creating 8 art cards before going back to sleep for another hour or so. I didn’t really plan what I was doing, I just wanted to have a variety of cards that sort of represent the different kinds of paintings that I…

  • Watercolor on the West Coast #1

Yesterday we were driving through Oregon and went from the mountains to the desert. I’ve never been to the desert so my reaction was a mix of “Wow!” and “how weird!” Lots of brown and relatively solitary trees. The sky was stunning even with the heavy rain. So I decided as we drove through that…

  • Daily Painting: Coming Soon

    Daily Painting: Coming Soon

I decided that starting Monday (and for the next 3 weeks) I’m going to try and do a daily painting. It’ll be in watercolor, but eventually I’d like to work in acrylics and possibly oils. I’ll also only be using Coeruleum (blue), white, vermilion (red), black, and Lemon Yellow. Unless I run out and need…
